HISTORY OF OASIS CHURCH

OASIS Church, a member congregation of the Florida Sonshine Mission District, was the first NALC Mission Congregation in Florida and one of four original Mission Congregations which signed the Charter of the North American Lutheran Church in August 2010. OASIS was planted by Pastors Bill and Rebecca Heber and held its first worship service on September 5, 2010, at the Westin Hotel in Lake Mary, Florida (near Orlando).

THE MEANING OF THE OASIS LOGO

OASIS CHURCH
is a place of refreshment, renewal, and relationship for people living in an arid world, a place where our spiritual hunger is satisfied by Jesus Christ, the Bread of Life, and where we drink from the thirst quenching Spring of the Water of Life, God’s Holy Word, the Bible.

THE GREEN FROND
represents Jesus’ Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem and His promised Triumphant return to gather His people into the joy and rest of His eternal Kingdom.

THE TRANSPARENT CROSS
represents the transparency of God’s love for sinners, for Whom He sent His only begotten Son to live, die, and rise again for the forgiveness of sins.

OASIS CHURCH
is called to be a people through whom the love of God and the light of Christ transparently shines — that every thirsty heart and arid soul we touch may find an “OASIS” OF NEW LIFE IN CHRIST.
